SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
SACAP is looking for a Senior Accreditation and Quality Specialist. This position is full-time, permanent.
The Senior Accreditation and Quality Specialist provides high-level oversight, leadership, and process design for all programme accreditation, registration and other quality assurance activities, where needed, across the Group. Primarily, the role ensures that all new and existing programme applications are developed, managed, and submitted efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with the policies and frameworks of the Council on Higher Education (CHE), the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
This role is also accountable for improving both the speed and quality of programme submissions, ensuring that the Group’s academic pipeline supports strategic growth targets. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing robust workflows, templates, and quality assurance processes, managing cross-institutional coordination, and build institutional capacity for regulatory excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in the disciplines of Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or an equivalent discipline (a PhD is advantageous).
- Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in Higher Education, including at least 5 years in accreditation, regulatory management, or quality assurance.
- Demonstrated success in leading multiple CHE-approved programme accreditations from concept to final approval.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising teams.
- Experience in process design, project management, and the use of workflow or tracking systems for accreditation or compliance.
- Detailed understanding of the HEQSF, CHE, SAQA, and DHET policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Evidence of research and innovation in academic programme development.
- Experience working across multi-brand or group contexts in higher education advantageous.

Operating Hours:
This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:
- Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
- Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
