SACAP is looking for a Deputy Dean (Learning and Teaching).
The Deputy Dean: Learning and Teaching is a senior leader of SACAP who holds responsibility for shaping the strategic direction and operational management of the learning and teaching departments (WIL, teaching, and postgraduate and professional programmes).
The Deputy Dean: L&T supports the Dean: SACAP College in the overall leadership of the Academic Department of SACAP College.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Leads the development and implementation of institutional learning and teaching strategy.
- Holds accountability for all quality assurance and regulatory requirements related to learning and teaching at SACAP.
- Oversees the development and implementation of academic policy related to learning and teaching.
- Line manages the academic leadership team members responsible for the overall quality of learning and teaching at SACAP, inclusive of the Head of Learning and Teaching, the Head of Work Integrated Learning and the Head of Postgraduate and Professional Programmes.
- Seeks to network extensively within the public and private higher education sector nationally and internationally in order to expand the academic reputation of SACAP, with a particular emphasis on representing SACAP on various platforms related to learning and teaching.
- Supports the Dean: SACAP College in the Management of the Academic Department, the Academic Leadership team, as well as the Academic Board.
- Management of the Academic Department budget related to Learning and Teaching.
- The Deputy Dean: L&T is a senior manager of SACAP and is therefore responsible for providing leadership, guidance and motivation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- PhD in Psychology, Education, Training and Development or a relevant tertiary qualification.
- 5 years + experience in Private Higher Education at a Senior Management Level.
- A minimum of 10 years + experience at a Senior Management Level in Higher Education.

- Strong project management and performance management skills, and the ability to develop, monitor and evaluate strategies and complex work plans.

The role will report directly to the Dean of SACAP College.
Operating Hours
This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:
Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
